The Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church Begins

The Bishops’ Assembly was opened at the Patriarchate of Pec by the Divine Liturgy celebrated on the 14th of May 2017. – The Rite of the Invocation of the Holy Spirit was served after the Liturgy.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej presided over the Holy Liturgy in the royal stauropegial Monstary of the Patriarchate of Pec with the concelebration of Hierarchs of the Serbian Orthodox Church gathered here on the occasion of the beginning of the regular session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

These Hierarchs officiated: Their Eminences Metropolitans Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, and Porphyry of Zagreb-Ljubljana, as well as Their Graces Bishops: Lavrentije of Sabac; Longin of Midwest-America; Justin of Zica; Pachomije of Vranje; Jovan of Sumadija; Fotije of Dalmatia; Athanasije of Bihac-Petrovac; Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic; Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina; Teodosije of Raska-Prizren; Maksim of West America; Sergije of Frankfurt and All Germany; Ilarion of the Timok; Antony of Moravice and Kiril of Diokleja..

After the Divine Liturgy there was served the Rite of Invocation of the Holy Spirit for the blessed and fruitful work of the Holy Assembly of Bishops. The Holy Assembly of Bishops will commence its work on 15 May 2017 at the Patriarchate Palace in Belgrade.
