The Flag of the Serbian Church Destroyed and Stolen from Gracanica Monastery

Kosovo and Metohija: A group of masked men broke into the Serbian Orthodox monastery of Gracanica and destroyed the flag of the Serbian Orthodox Church that was placed on the main entrance gate. One among them was holding an Albanian flag.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated that “photos of the desecrated church flag appeared on social networks, which show an Albanian disguised in black and trampling on a tricolour with the flag of ‘Greater Albania’.

The office also stated that “the act is a direct attack and a threatening message to the believers of the Serbian Orthodox Church, along with an unequivocal indicator of the unstable and dangerous security situation in Serbian communities in Kosovo”.
