The Final Phase of the Competition “Divine Liturgy from Student Voices”
Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
In honor of the 10th anniversary of the consecration of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Christian Education Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin initiated a youth competition called “Divine Liturgy from Student Voices” in local public schools. The program was initiated with the blessings of the Pontiff of All Armenians and with the assistance of Mr. Armen Ashotian, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia.
The aim of the competition is to familiarize youth with the mystery and hymns of the Divine Liturgy through the development and presentation of performances. The competition will be implemented in three phases – local, regional and national.
Local commissions comprised of representatives from the local Dioceses of the Armenian Church and local municipal educational institutions, will choose the best local school presentations. The winning schools will compete in regional contests and the winners will then advance to a national competition.
The final three-day contest is being held in the Youth Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin from December 1 to 3, starting at 11:00 a.m.
At the conclusion of the competition, winners will be selected for the categories of; “Best script”, “Best performance” and “Best act”. A grand prize, the “Pontifical Award”, will be granted to the school with the best overall performance.
