The City Hall Of Iaşi Awarded His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel The “Ad Honorem” Prize

The city hall of Iaşi city has organised this year, too, on the occasion of the feast of Saint Parascheva, the event entitled “Evening of the Values”. Prizes and diplomas were awarded to the personalities of Iaşi who distinguished themselves through special results in various fields, as education, art, industry, business or sport.
The event took place today, 14 October 2010, in the Big Hall of the City Hall, with His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church as guest of honour who was awarded a special prize.
Lucian Ducan offered more details on this event for Trinitas Radio station: “The Patriarch of Romania was awarded the “Ad Honorem” prize, which is the most recent prize set up by the authorities of Iaşi city, that will be awarded only to the personalities that will visit Iaşi city on the occasion of the feast of Saint Pious Parascheva”.
The Patriarch of Romania thanked the mayor and those present for the prize awarded and congratulated the local authorities for having organised the cultural events occasioned by the celebration of the dedication day of the Metropolitan Cathedral.
“It is a great honour for us to feel how this city of culture and faith develops and links together tradition with modernity, local with national and international. In think that everything you said here about the cooperation between the City Hall and Metropolitan See, City hall and Universities, City Hall and Museum is encouraging for all these institutions, as we badly need at the same time this common work. Thank you very much and we wish every success to you and to all the Christians and mostly to the values you recognise”, said His Beatitude.
Further on, the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church offered presents to the City Hall of Iaşi.
To end with, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, together with hierarchs of our Church, with people of culture, officials and representatives of some other religious cults, attended a concert performed by “Stars of Music” band.
