The Armenian Church Welcomes Dialogue with PM Nikol Pashinyan

Yerevan-Armenia: In a statement released on the 22nd of June 2021, the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church has welcomed dialogue with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The statement reads that “the Acting PM’s proposal to dialogue directed to the spiritual leaders of the Armenian Church is also welcome. The Mother See has always acted from these positions and expects that the new leadership will take practical and consistent actions to implement their proposal in cooperation with the Church, as well as to build public solidarity“.
The statement was released in light of the results of the recent elections in Armenia in which Pashinyan has become victorious. Moreover, the relationship between him and the Armenian Church has been deteriorating amind Armenia’s defeat in the Karabakh war with Azerbaijan.
