THE ANNUAL CONCERT OF THE “SHENORHALI” CHOIR OF THE CATHOLICOSATE OF CILICIA WAS GREATLY APPLAUDED

On Saturday 11 June 2011, the ‘Shenorhali’ Choir held its annual concert at the Siran Manoukian Hall of Manoukian College. The Armenian Church University Students Association organized it under the auspices of His Holiness Aram I.

The programme included two parts. In the first part the choir sang spiritual songs from the Holy Liturgy and other hymns; the second part was dedicated to ethnic and national songs.

After the Concert, His Holiness Aram I thanked the young conductor, Rev. Torkom Donoyan, the members of the choir and the accompanying musicians, and said, “Through your talent and commitment tonight, we have experienced the rich spiritual heritage of our church; through your rendition of our ethnic songs you have brought our cultural heritage alive. For the past 40 years, the ‘Shenorhali’ Choir has kept us bonded together and kept alive our vision and hopes. “ The Catholicos then thanked the members of ACUSA for organizing the evening, and said, “You are the thread that will keep our people united in the Diaspora.” Finally, His Holiness expressed his appreciation to the audience who had come in such great numbers to applaud the choir and support the youth.
