We are delighted to present to you the annual activity report of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society for the year 2020. We thank you all for the kind support and encouragement.
Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE is a Pan-Orthodox Christian Society founded in 2007 and established under the Travancore-Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. Registration No: A.455/2010.
Meetings and Visits, Conferences, Honors and Awards
Amid the COVID Pandemic, the delegates of the OCP Society was able to manage the below visits.
OCP Delegates Ben Kunjacko – Chief PR Officer, Linto Paul — Editor of Malankara Affairs, and Afiya Biju — Editor of Malayalam Affairs were received by Metropolitan Mathews Severious of Kandanad West of the Malankara Church on 9th March 2020.
Dr. Rubin Khachatryan (Delegate of Yerevan & All Armenia met His Beatitude Patriarch-Archbishop Sahak Mashalyan of Constantinople on 2nd March 2020 at the event “The Firstborn – in a new way” which was held at the Vatche and Tamar Manoukian Library of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Donn George (editor of International Affairs) represented the OCP Society at the 27th General Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy on a virtual platform.
Book on Christian Stewardship by OCP Delegate Dr. John G. Panagiotou was presented to Met. Alexios of Atlanta on the 1st of November 2020.
Fr Dr Jossi Jacob (Chief of the Center for Orthodox Studies) and Donn George Varghese (Head of International Affairs) of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society spoke at the Conference in Defense of Christians in Africa, an initiative of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian Association for the Defense of Religious Freedom (RARS) on the 22nd of December 2020.

Research Projects and Publications
The Second part of the Western Rites of Syriac-Malankara Orthodox Churches was released worldwide in December 2020. The objectives of the MARP research project was revamped. MARP will focus on global Western Rite Orthodox research. Three books have been announced for the year 2021.
Media and Journalism
OCP Media Network continues to reach out to a considerable number of readers. As of December 2020, OCP Media Network is ranked 27th among the top Orthodox Blogs & Websites for Eastern Orthodox Christians by feedspot. An important interview with Catechist Wanjala Emmanuel on the problems in the Ugandan Orthodox Church was published in May and that resulted in serious discussions. An interview with Sub Deacon Pradeep Hatcher on St.Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary was published as well. An article on the resurgence of the Romanian Church was published on the COS web portal which received general acclaim and as well as an appreciation from the Romanian Patriarchate. A video tribute was released in response to the demise of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia.
Statements, Petitions and Social Action
The OCP Society got involved in a number of Social Issues like the persecution of Christians in Africa Middle East and Europe. Adequate statements were released on the conversion of Hagia Sophia and Chora Church in Turkey, on the desperate conditions of Christians in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Artsakh, and elsewhere.
Webinars and Videos
Two major Webinars (Pan-Orthodox Unity and on media and journalism in Greece)were live-broadcasted by the OCP Media network through the OCP Youtube channel. Apart from webinars awareness videos on Christian persecution in Ethiopia and the Republic of Arshak were broadcasted.
Achievements by OCP Delegates
On Thursday the 10th of January, Archdeacon Tesfa Mikael Williams, Editor of Ethiopian Affairs (the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society) graduated with a Master of Arts in Theology, Ministry and Mission graduated from Durham University.
OCP Delegate Donn George secured Second Rank from the Central University of Punjab (MA in Political Science) in August 2020. Dr John G. Panagiotou and his recent book ‘The Path to Oikonomia with Jesus Christ as Our Lighthouse‘ have been featured in the Intelligencer daily. He was also featured on the Logan Power Show in the month of September.
Anca Constenco Sirbu – Delegate of Bucharest and All Romania of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Society) and her husband Alex Costenco were featured in the Lumina News Paper of the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate in October.
The OCP Media Network interview with Fr Dr. Jossi Jacob (Chief of COS) on the Ethiopian crisis was featured in the popular Amharic Orthodox magazine ‘Hamer’, published by Mahibre Kidusan (MK).
Dr Romina Istratii – The associate Researcher Editor at the Center for Orthodox Studies (COS), was awarded the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship. Dr Istratii also launched monograph Adapting Gender and Development to Local Religious Contexts: A Decolonial Approach in Ethiopia.
George Alexander (Secretary) was aired on SPAS TV Channel during the panel discussion titled ‘ETHIOPIA – Persecution of Christians’ which was held on 28th September 2020.
OCP Chancellor Chorbishop Kyriakose Thottupuram Celebrated 50 Years of Priesthood in May 2020. A declaration was published on the occasion by George Joseph- Chairman of the OCP Society.
Charity and Social Welfare
An amount of Rs 1,30,000 (1765 Dollars) was spent on charity and social welfare in India for the year 2020. The help was provided for education and health.
Networking and Associations
OCP continues to cooperate with a number of Orthodox Churches, organizations, and personalities. Some of them are the Serbian Orthodox Patriarchate, Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate, External Church Relations Dept of the Russian Orthodox Church – Moscow Patriarchate, the Special Office of the Ethiopian Orthodox Patriarchate, the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate, the British Orthodox Church, the Christian Catholic Church Canada, Information Services Department of the St. Vladimir Orthodox Theological Seminary, International Orthodox Christian Charities, the Armenian Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the Orthodox Church in Pakistan, St. Catherine’s Vision, Focus Ecumenical Journal, 28. Jun NGO, Coptic Orthodox Center- UK. The OCP Society is a recognised partner of the Conference in Defense of Christians in Africa, an initiative of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian Association for the Defense of Religious Freedom (RARS).
