Statement of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians

We learned of the crash of the Tehran-Yerevan airline flight and the resulting loss of many souls with great sorrow. This tragic event brings great pain and sadness to us all. We grieve the terrible loss of life with our people throughout the world.

On behalf of the Supreme Spiritual Council and the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin, we extend our heartfelt and sincere condolences to all families, friends and associates of the victims. We pray that Almighty God console and reinforce our sorrowful and grieving hearts to overcome the deep pain of loss; and that He make the souls of the departed worthy of His boundless mercy.
