Statement by Patriarchate of Georgia

As the society is well aware, there has been launched purposeful anti-church campaign throughout different web-sites and newspapers recently.

Yesterday, there was spread disinformation as though people accused in Alexander Girgvliani’s assassination were sent to a monastery upon blessing by Catholicos Patriarch.

That disinformation arose resentment among the population.

We hereby state that the Catholicos Patriarch has no relation either with their early release or with their sending to a monastery.
