SPC concerned over decrease in KFOR Troops
20/3/2010
BELGRADE — A delegation of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Synod is expressing concern over the decrease in the number of KFOR troops in Kosovo.
The delegation was in Paris and Berlin speaking with Germany and French officials, two countries that decreased the number of troops they had in the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo.
The delegation also met with UNESCO officials to express their worries that the region could be destabilized because of the decrease in KFOR troops.
The Raška-Prizren Eparchy stated that the decision to transfer authority for the protection of the Gazimestan monument from KFOR to the Kosovo Police (KPS) is a poor decision, adding that neither the Church nor the Serb people in Kosovo have trust in the work of the KPS.
