A YOUNG schoolboy managed to capture a rather special selfie when Prince Charles visited his local church.
The youngster took a photo of himself with the 65-year-old royal at the Coptic Orthodox Church Centre in Stevenage, Herts, before the heir’s security guards could stop him.
While Charles chatted to members of the congregation, the young boy asked him if he could take a photo, then quickly pressed the button on his mobile phone.
“I went up to him and said if I could take a photograph of him – and then well I didn’t wait for the body guards to push me out of the way, I just took a picture,” he said.
Prince Charles, who was wearing a navy blue suit and checked tie, is seen standing behind the little boy and looking into the camera, but he isn’t exactly pouting.
Charles was visiting the church to show his support for Christians in the Middle East where for decades there have been a number of conflicts.
He was accompanied by Prince Ghazi of Jordan and the pair aimed to show the importance of harmony between different faiths.
They were received at the Centre by His Grace Bishop Angaelos, general bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church in the UK and the visit included a traditional prayer service.
They later had a private meeting to discuss the current situation in Egypt and the Middle East.
