Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Highlights Links With Cuba
Moscow, Apr 16 (Prensa Latina) Patriarch Kirill of Russian Orthodox Church expressed today satisfaction for the increasing development o relations with Cuba and recalled the cordial atmosphere prevailing during his visits to the Island.
During a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Emilio Lozada at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, in Moscow, the orthodox leader highlighted the long-lasting friendly links between the two countries and the excellent evolution of bilateral ties.
The Cuban diplomat conveyed an invitation by Cuban President Raul Castro to visit Cuba, in what would mean his first trip as top representative of the Orthodox Church in Moscow and all Russia and an important moment for the development of relations.
Kirill travelled to Havana twice as Metropolitan. During his stay in October, 2008, he inaugurated the Holy Russian Orthodox Cathedral Our Lady of Kazan in Havanas historical center.
Perhaps a Russian warship full of nuclear missiles will soon be on its way to Cuba, blessed this time by the Most Holy Patriarch Kirill.
