Russian, Georgian Orthodox Universities to Cooperate

The Georgian Patriarchal University of Andrey the First-Called and the Orthodox Svyato-Tikhonovsky Humanitarian University (OSTHU) have signed a cooperation deal, RIA Novosti reports.
The document was signed by Professor Sergo Vardosanidze, head of the University of Andrew the First-Called, and Arch-Priest of the OSTHU Vladimir Vorobyov.
Vardosanidze congratulated Father Vladimir on his birthday.
Metropolitan of the Gori and Samtavi Andrey said talked about cooperation of the Russian and Georgian orthodox universities, Georgian students at the OSTHU, teachers interested in Georgia and its orthodox history. One day of theological conferences at the Svyato-Tikhonovsky University will be devoted to cartvelological studies.
Vladimir said that he was happy to be at the founding of the monastery of Iver Mother of God on Makhata Mountain. He noted that they signed an agreement for 20 years.
The document will improve ties in developing joint programs of studies, solution of problems, functioning of programs for exchange of students and teachers.
Professor Zaza Abashidze told about publication of joint theological works in Russian in Moscow and in Georgian in Tbilisi.
Head of the monitoring council of the Georgian Patriarchal University Georgy Andriadze talked about details of the work of Arch-Priest Vladimir Vorobyov.
