In the context of the current pandemic, the Romanian Patriarchate offers tablets or other electronic devices to students (especially those in the eighth and twelfth grades) and teachers from disadvantaged communities, to be able to connect to online lessons, thus continuing the teaching-learning process.
The Romanian Patriarchate supports the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Research to offer tablets or other electronic devices to students and teachers from disadvantaged communities, through its project “Choose School!” and through the dioceses across the country and in the Romanian diaspora, which joined this approach according to possibilities.
So far, 4,470 tablets or other electronic devices have been offered at the level of the Romanian Patriarchate, in a total value of 2,661,852 lei, as follows: through the “Choose School!” Project – 1,919 tablets, worth 1,151,400 lei; through dioceses – 2,551 tablets or other electronic devices, amounting to 1,510,452 lei.
At the same time, given that all schools were closed due to the current pandemic, the Romanian Patriarchate offered students the opportunity to keep in touch with religious education, part of the common core in the Framework Plans for primary, secondary and high school, through the show Religion Lesson, made by TRINITAS TV, with the support of the Theological-Educational Sector of the Patriarchal Administration.
