Romanian Monastery Church in Clinton – MI Burns

The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America has posted the following press release:

CLINTON, MI- With sadness, we report that around noon on Friday, August 12, the church ofAscension of the Lord Monastery in Clinton, Michigan burned down. The cause of the fire is as yet unknown. His Eminence, Archbishop Nathaniel together with Rev. Fr. Vicar Dan Hoarste traveled to the monastery to be with the monastic community immediately following the fire. During this difficult time, we pray to God to give peace and comfort to the monastic community during this difficult test.

Out of concern and a display of support, the Episcopate is establishing a fund for the monastery and encourages parishes to make a collection. As with all official Episcopate Appeals, we ask that the parish to combine all donations and send a check(s) made payable to: ROEA, PO BOX 309, GRASS LAKE MI 49240-0309. Note “Ascension Monastery Fire” on your check. The total collected will be distributed to the monastery and will be reported in Solia – The Herald.

Biserica Mănăstirii Înălțarea Domnului din Clinton a fost mistuită de flăcări

[CLINTON, MI – 12 August, 2016] Cu părere de rău, vă aducem la cunoștință faptul că în ziua de 12 august, în jurul amiezii, biserica Mănăstirii Înălțarea Domnului din Clinton, Michigan a fost mistuită de flăcări. Cauzele incendiului nu se cunosc încă. Înaltpreasfințitul Părinte Nathaniel dimpreună cu Părintele Vicar Dan Hoarste s-au deplasat la mănăstire, fiind alături de obștea monahală încă din primele ore ale incediului. În aceste clipe grele, rugăm pe Dumnezeu să aducă pace și mângâiere comunității monahale greu încercate. Din purtare de grija si sprijin fata de Mânăstire, Episcopia a deschis un fond special si încurajează parohiile sa facă o colecta in acest scop. Asa cum se procedează cu toata colecteze oficiale ale Episcopiei, rugam parohiile sa trimite toate donațiile cumulate prin cec emis către: ROEA, PO BOX 309, GRASS LAKE MI 49240-0309, cu mențiunea “Ajutor pentru incendiul Mănăstirii.” Toate donațiile făcute vor fi înaintate manastirii si anunțate in Revista Solia.

The Ascension of God Monastery is under the canonical jurisdiction of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America, under the oversight and permanent care of His Eminence Nathaniel (Popp), Archbishop of Detroit and Orthodox Episcopate Romanian American, having as abbot of His Holiness Irineu, Archbishop of Detroit and of the the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America, abbot being His Grace Irineu (Duvlea).
