Requiem for Repose of Souls of Syrian martyrs Held in Brazil

SAO PAULO, (SANA) – Archbishop of the Orthodox Church in Brazil, His Eminence Metropolitan Archbishop, Damaskinos Mansour, held a requiem for the repose of the souls of the Syrian martyrs.
Participants in the requiem prayed for God to protect Syria and President Bashar al-Assad and to fortify the homeland in the face of internal and foreign seditions.
Archbishop Mansour stressed that constructive dialogue is the only way out of the crisis in Syria, hoping that those who have been mislead would return to the right path.
He expressed appreciation to Russia’s government, president and people for their support of Syria against international conspiracies.
The participants raised the Syrian flags and chanted slogans to express support to the reform process led by President al-Assad.
Bishops and priests of catholic and orthodox Armenians, Syriacs, Melkites and Roman catholics, members of the Syrian and Lebanese communities, Brazilian officials and economic figures participated in the requiem.
