His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch attended a solemn academy at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade on October 23, 2012 regarding the centennial of the World War I and the liberation of Serbia.
Following the hymn God of Justice, Mr. Milos Stanković – the president of the Serbian Cultural Circle Despot Stephen Lazarević; professor Dr. Sima Avramović – the Dean of the Faculty of Law, the University of Belgrade, and Mr. Tomislav Nikolić – the President of the Republic of Serbia held a welcome speech.
The academy was enriched with an interesting cultural program. Following movies were shown on this occasion: Crown Prince Alexander, commander of the First Army in combat position at Crni Vrh, Colonel Nedić in combat and Arrival of IV Cavalry Regiment in Belgrade. For the first time after 98 years, the march of Maja Maze was performed. It is devoted to Commander of XII Infantry Regiment of Tsar Lazar, Colonel Milivoje Stojanović.
This solemn academy was organized by Serbian Cultural Circle Despot Stefan Lazarević and the Faculty of Law, the University of Belgrade. The Academy is helped by the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Institute of Comparative Law, the National Library of Serbia, the National Archives of Serbia and the Yugoslav Film Archive.
