United Kingdom: This is a detailed study of the Eastern Orthodox Council of Constantinople which took place in 553 AD. It considers the official Statement and the Canons which were produced at the Council, especially in response to continuing controversy over the person and writings of Theodore of Mopsuestia, Theodoret and Ibas.
Since there is much which is common with the Orthodox Faith of the so-called Non-Chalcedonian Orthodox in these texts, a proposal is developed in this volume which could lead to these texts being received as Orthodox by the Non-Chalcedonian Orthodox, with the hope that this might provide a model for dealing with the other Eastern Orthodox Councils in due course, and providing some fresh energy in the dialogue between the Orthodox and the Eastern Orthodox Churches.
