PROFESSOR MARTIN TAMCKE PRESENTS HIS RESEARCH ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE PHOTOS IN ANTELIAS

Dr. Martim Tamcke, from Gottingham University in Germany, a specialist on Oriental Orthodox Thelology, was the speaker of a special event presided over by His Holiness Aram I in Antelias. Prof. Tamcke spoke of his research on Armin T. Wegner’s photos of the Genocide. Wegner was a medic in the German army during World War I who disobeyed orders and took photos of genocide scenes and interviewed survivors and eyewitnesses.
At the end of the presentation, Prof. Martin Tamcke informed his audience that in a recent publication sponsored by the University, he had contributed an article on the Armenian Church with particular emphasis on the history of the Catholicosate of Cilicia.
After a brief session of question and answer, Catholicos Aram I thanked the Professor for his contribution to Oriental Orthodox Theology and also for his support of the Armenian Genocide.
