Press Release: Social Economy of Present Interest

From 27 – 28 September 2010, a session of training of those involved in projects of social economy and reintegration of the former prisoners will take place at the Social-Cultural Centre of Saint Hierarch Calinic at Cernica Monastery. The event is organised by the Philanthropy Foundation in partnership with the Romanian Patriarchate, Unione degli Assessorati and Obiettivo Lavoro of Italy within the social project entitled Strategy of Occupation and Qualification through Study and Activity for Freedom, subsidised by the European Union through the Operational Programme for Development of Human Sources – POSDRU unfolded in partnership with the National Administration of the Prisons of Romania.

The session of training is designed to inform and prepare the social workers and other experts in view of supporting the social reintegration of the prisoners and former prisoners on the basis of the concept of social economy. At the same time, the increase of the level of knowledge and understanding of the concept of social economy is taken into account, as a field suited for developing certain innovator flexible patterns of engaging the prisoners and former prisoners.

The themes analysed within the session of training will explore the field of social economy – conceptual frame and examples of good practice, aspects related to the operation of the social enterprises in Italy and perspectives of their organisation in Romania, presentation of examples of reintegration of the former prisoners through the social enterprises and other ways in Romania and Italy, projects in the field of social economy of the eparchial centres etc.
