President congratulates Azerbaijan’s Orthodox Christian Community

President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Azerbaijan’s Orthodox Christian community on Christmas.

The letter reads: “I congratulate the whole Christian community of Azerbaijan on the occasion of Christmas and I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to you on such a dear day.

Religions and confessions in Azerbaijan famous a model of tolerance, place of inter- civilizations and intercultural dialogue, historically have been living in tranquility, mutual respect and trust, separate people and ethnic communities, representing different cultures, showed the love of country, union and solidarity around the idea of Azerbaijan.

Maintenance of ethnic-cultural diversity, support and popularization of multiculturalism in our society are one of the leading objectives of the state policy pursued by us in the modern stage. I would like to note that the Christian community, which has typical place and role in Azerbaijan’s rich ethnic and cultural palette, including our orthodox compatriots closely participate in the great construction works carried out in our country.
