Preparatory Works for Blessing of the Holy Muron Commenced at the Mother See

On August 19, the preparatory works for the Blessing of the Holy Muron commenced in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. After the Evening Service, the silver cauldron filled with olive oil was placed on the Main Altar of the Mother Cathedral and was covered with an embroidered veil. For 40 days until the Blessing of the Holy Muron, prayers will be offered each day following Evening Services.
This year, the Blessing of the Holy Muron will be held on September 27, the Feast of the Holy Cross of Varag; in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, during which His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; will bless the Holy Muron with Holy Relics of the Armenian Church. The newly blessed Muron will be distributed to all the dioceses of the Armenian Church.
