Preparation for the Patriarch’s visit: “it is a rare occasion, it should be supported” noted the authorities of Sebastopol and allocated more than 800 thousand Hrn from the reserve fund.

The City Council of Sebastopol adopted decision to allocate 811 thousand Hrn from the reserve fund of the city budget for the expenditures involved with the stay of the Primate of the Russia Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill on August 2 in Sebastopol.

According to the UNIAN correspondent, the chairman of the city state administration explained to the deputies at today’s plenary session that the funds were intended to be used for transportation, radio and TV-Broadcasting of the visit of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
Chairman of the City Council Valery Saratov informed the journalists during the break of the plenary session: “We allocate money, the deputies are unanimous”.

According to him, “frankly speaking, the enterprises render direct assistance to the Church. And we found an opportunity to allocate money from the reserve fund. We presumed that it is a rare occasion and it should be supported.”

The chairman of the City State Administration of Sebastopol, Sergey Kunitsyn, in the course of the session of the Committee on preparation of the Visit of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia held in the territory of the National Reserve “Chersonese of Tavria”, reported that the main events on August 2 with patriarch’s participation are planned to be the Liturgy and the blessing the foundation stone of a future Orthodox Center, held near the Cathedral of St. Vladimir in Chersonese.

It is supposed that in the inner yard of the church there will be the place for 1,5 thousand of parishioners. In the territory of Chersonese there will be dozens thousands of believers. In order that everyone might see the broadcast of the Divine service, three large light-emitting diode displays will be installed. The entrance to the territory of Chersonese will be free, there will be the pass-tickets into the territory of St. Vladimir’s Cathedral. The liturgical service will begin at 8 o’clock in the morning.
