Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria Meets Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia

Addis Ababa: His Holiness Tawadors II of Alexandria on the Throne of St Mark the Evangelist has arrived in Ethiopia for the first apostolic visit. The Primate of the Coptic Orthodox Church is accompanied by a high-level  delegation from Egypt. Pope Tawadros II met with Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia in Addis Abba.

Ethiopian Ambassador to Egypt and Egyptian Ambassador in Ethiopia, Archbishops of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and several other dignitaries welcomed Pope Tawadros II. The Papal visit will cover several churches and monasteries and will also hold important bi-lateral talks. The Pope will be the chief guest for the celebration of finding the holy cross also know as (Meskel celebrations), one of the biggest Orthodox event in Ethiopia.
