Pope Tawadros II Inaugurates the First Coptic Orthodox Church in Japan

Kyoto-Japan: His Holiness Tawadros II – Pope & Patriarch of Alexandria (Seated on the ancient See of St Mark the Evangelist & Primate of the Coptic Orthodox Church) inaugurated the first ever Coptic Orthodox Parish Church in Koyoto during the last week of August 2017.
The St. Mary and St Mark Coptic Church will cater to the spiritual needs of Coptic, Ethiopian, Eritrean and rest of the Oriental Orthodox Christians living in Japan.
His Grace Bishop Daniel is the Prelate of the Coptic Orthodox Community in Japan. The Church was complete a year ago and the first Divine Liturgy was served by Bishop Daniel.
More than 100 people attended the consecration ceremony including Eastern Orthodox faithful.
