Pope Francis Hails Youth Climate Activists for ‘Challenging’ the Adult World

Milan- Italy: Pope Francis of Rome and the Primate of the Roman Catholic Church on the 30th of September praised young climate activists for challenging the adult world. He was speaking at the Youth4Climate event in Milan. The event gathered nearly 400 young activists from 197 countries. The Bishop of Rome stated that “their work is for the good of humanity and it is capable of challenging the adult world”.
Pope Francis and the roman catholic Church has been advocating for the protection of environment and the prevention of climate changes. Last month a joint statement was issued by the Pope, Ecumenical Patriarch and the Archbishop of Canterbury calling for appropriate sacrifices to save the earth.
Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg spoke at the event. She criticized US President Biden and other political leaders for not taking appropriate actions to reduce changes in climate.
