Pontiff of All Armenians Receives Executive Director of Millennium Challenge Corporation
On May 4, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received Mr. Daniel Yohannes, Executive Director of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). He was accompanied by Mrs. Maria Yovanovich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA to the Republic of Armenia.
His Holiness reflected with satisfaction on the important contribution of the MCC to the economic development of Armenia. The Armenian Pontiff expressed his appreciation to the people of the United States and wished success to the mission of the MCC.
The Catholicos of All Armenians expressed his confidence that Armenia would overcome her difficulties and problems, placing importance on the significance of restoration of spiritual values.
Mr. Yohannes expressed his gratitude to His Holiness for the reception, and presented the realized outcomes of the programs that have been implemented in Armenia by the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
During the meeting, there was a question and answer session during which the Pontiff of All Armenians presented the mission of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, also reflecting on the challenges facing the Armenian Church and the methods being used to overcome them.
