Patron Saint-day of the First Belgrade Choral Ensemble

On the feast-day of Saint Basil the Great, 14 December 2019, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of local clergy in Belgrade’s Cathedral church of Saint Michael the Archangel, during which the Primate of the Church blessed the festal loaf of the First Belgrade Choral Ensemble.
The First Belgrade Choral Ensemble gave a traditional charity concert of the Cathedral church on a great scene of the National Theater in Belgrade in the evening of the same day.
Traditionally, next to the First Belgrade Choral Ensemble its Children’s choir and some opera singers performed the program consisting of church hymns and national songs. This year’s event was dedicated to the historic jubilee – the 800 anniversary of the autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
