Patriarchs Rahi and Yazigi call on foreign sides to stop interference in Syria

BEIRUT, (SANA) – Cardinal Mar Bechara al-Rahi, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East of Maronite Church, and Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and All the East for Greek Orthodox Church called on all foreign sides to stop interference in Syria.

After their meeting Thursday at the Patriarchate in Bkirki, the two patriarchs expressed sorrow and sadness over the continuation of violence in Syria, calling on all sides to work for peace to preserve the history of Syria and its cultural role which dates back to many centuries.

They called for releasing Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo and Iskenderun, Bishop Paul Yazigi, and the Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Aleppo, Bishop John Ibrahim, and all kidnapped people.
