Patriarchal Blessing for 1992 Series of Graduates of the Faculty of Theology of “Patriarch Justinian”
Thursday, 20 September 2012, the theologians who graduated from the “Patriarch Justinian” Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Bucharest in 1992 met again to celebrate 20 years since graduation. The festivity began at the Saint Spiridon Metropolitan Cathedral of Bucharest, patriarchal chapel, and continued at the Faculty of Theology of Bucharest, then ended at the Patriarchate Palace where the graduates where received by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the morning at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saint Spiridon the New, patriarchal chapel of Bucharest, on the occasion of this festivity, and then His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch celebrated the Te Deum service, followed by the remembrance service for the passed away, members of the teaching staff and graduates.
“This day has a deep significance because it is an opportunity blessed by God to meet and live again the happy time we lived during the four years of study at this faculty and especially to remember our nice moments, our professors who greatly contributed to our intellectual and spiritual formation”, His Grace Ciprian Campineanul, Assistant Bishop to the Patriarch said.
The anniversary meeting continued at the faculty where the roll was called and a festive speech was delivered. The festivity ended at the Patriarchal Palace where they were received by His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, who was their supervisor during their studies.
“We are glad to see that the then students have become servants of the Church of various ranks and with various responsibilities. Although the group was not big the results were good, because they were few and good. It was great enthusiasm after the changes of 1989, but before that the students’ conscience was waiting for it; yet the discipline was different at that time. The discipline was more serious at the Faculty and the liturgical programme more special. It was a great honour and joy to meet professors with rich experience respected by all those around”, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel said.
