Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Arrived to Crimea

On July 31 His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, making archpastoral visit to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, made a flight to Crimea from the Diocese of Donetsk.

Meeting His Holiness the Patriarch and His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir at the airport were Metropolitan Lazarus of Simferopol and Crimea, Chair of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Hrytsenko A.P, Chair of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Plakida E.V., other representatives of governmental bodies, clergy of the Dioceses of Simferopol and Dzhankoi.

From the airport His Holiness headed for the Holy Trinity Convent in the centre of Simferopol. At the holy gates of the convent His Holiness patriarch Kirill was welcomed by Abbess of the convent, hegumeness Eusebia (Palchik) with nuns, clergymen of the Diocese of Simferopol, numerous pilgrims and residents of Simferopol.
His Holiness bowed unto the relics of the Holy Hierarch Luke, Archbishop of Simferopol (Voyno-Yasenetsky, †1961), which rest in the cathedral church of the convent.

At the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church was greeted by Metropolitan Lazarus of Simferopol and Crimea. The ruling bishop of the Diocese of Simferopol gifted His Holiness Patriarch Kirill with the reliquaries containing particles of relics of the Holy Hierarch Luke.

His Holiness addressed the fold with archpastoral word and made a present of the Icon of the Mother of God “of the Sign” to the monastery.

Then His Holiness Patriarch Kirill called to the museum of the Holy Hierarch Luke in the territory of the abode.
