Patriarch Kirill, Rabbie Lazar agree joint aid to victims of Emergencies

The Russian Orthodox Church and the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia will join their efforts to help those affected by emergencies under an agreement reached by Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berl Lazar.
The two met in Moscow on Tuesday.
Spontaneous cooperation manifested itself this summer in the form of joint aid to victims of devastating wildfires.
Rabbi Lazar said that although Russia was a predominantly Orthodox country, all of its traditional religions were treated respectfully.
