Patriarch Kirill mourns over Chinese Quake
Moscow, April 19, Interfax – Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia expressed his condolences over a massive earthquake in China.
“The Russian Orthodox Church shares grief of the Chinese people in connection with a destructive earthquake in the Tibet uplands that took away hundreds of lives. Tens of thousands of people are suffering hard losses,” the Patriarch said in his message to CPR head Hu Jintao posted by the patriarchal press service on Monday.
The Primate expressed his sympathy to families of those killed. “We pray for all victims and soon recovery from the natural calamity,” the message reads.
As was reported, earthquake in Chinese province Qinghai took place on April 14 and killed over 1700 people.
