Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II Visits Malankara Jacobite Syriac & Knanaya Parishes in UAE

During his first ever Apostolic visit to the United Arab Emirates, His Holiness Mor Ignatius Ahrem II -Patriarch of Antioch and All East, visited Jacobite Syriac and Knanaya parishes. 

Evening Prayer at St. Ignatius Syriac Jacobite Church – Dubai

On November 10, 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II was received at St. Ignatius Syriac Jacobite in Dubai, by the clergy and faithful of our Church.

He then presided over the evening (ramsho) prayer at the cathedral.

Their Eminences: Mor Osthatheos Ishaq, Metropolitan of Mylapore and Delhi and Patriarchal Vicar in the U.A.E., Mor Barthelmaus Nathanael Youssef, Patriarchal Vicar in the UAE and the Arabain Gulf, Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin, Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, attended the prayer.

At the end of the prayer, His Holiness spoke about the renewal of the Church, and that the Church consists of the faithful united with the pastor around the one altar. He also spoke about the importance of peace between the faithful, and the significance of the unity of faith.

Reception at St. Mary Knanaya Church – Sharjah

On November 9, 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited St. Mary Knanaya Church in Sharjah, U.A.E.

He was accompanied by their Eminences: Mor Osthatheos Ishaq, Metropolitan of Mylapore and Delhi and Patriarchal Vicar in the U.A.E., Mor Barthelmaus Nathanael Youssef, Patriarchal Vicar in the UAE and the Arabain Gulf, Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin, Mor Severius Kuriakose, Chief Metropolitan of the Knanaya Archdiocese, Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Timotheos Matthew.

A great crowd of clerics and faithful received His Holiness on his first apostolic visit to the church in the U.A.E.

Holy Qurobo at St. Mary Cathedral – Sharjah

On November 9, 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Mary Cathedral in Sharjah, U.A.E.

He was assisted by their Eminences: Mor Gregorios Joseph, Metropolitan of Cochin, and Mor Severius Kuriakose, Chief Metropolitan of the Knanaya Archdiocese.

His Beatitude Catholicos Mor Baselios Thomas I, Catholicos of India, and their Eminences: Mor Osthatheos Ishaq, Metropolitan of Mylapore and Delhi and Patriarchal Vicar in the U.A.E., Mor Barthelmaus Nathanael Youssef, Patriarchal Vicar in the UAE and the Arabain Gulf, Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar in Germany, Mor Clemis Daniel Kourieh, Metropolitan of Beirut, and Mor Timotheos Matthew, as well as Archbishop Mesrop Sarkissian, Archbishop of the Armenian Orthodox Church in the U.A.E., attended the Qurobo.
