Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II visits displaced families of Hassakeh

Visit- I

Syria: His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met with the displaced families from Hassakeh, at St. Mary Church in Qamishli.

He spoke about the presence of God during the times of tribulation and how the Lord supports us and helps us during the most difficult times of need.

Later, he listened to the problems that the people coming from Hassakeh are facing as well as the different stories of how they were forced to leave their houses and seek refuge in Qamishli and the neighbouring villages. He directed the priests to offer assistance to all who seek help.

Visit – II

His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited St. Febronia Monastery in Himo and met the displaced families there that arrived from Hassakeh seeking refuge.

His Holiness assured them that the Church will do her best to help them and offer all it can to cover their basic needs.

He prayed that this crisis will end soon and asked the Lord to protect all the faithful in Hassaked and Qamishly.

Visit – III

His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited Mor Gewargis Monastery in Tartab where some displaced families from Hassakeh are currently seeking refuge.

After praying together in the Church of the monastery, His Holiness sat together with the families and listened to their stories and how they were forced to leave their homes in Hassakeh. He instructed the clergy to offer all they can to provide for the needy and help the poor.

Visit – IV

His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited the families that were displaced from Hassakeh that are currently in Mor Aho Monastery in Demkhiyya.

He prayed with them in the Church of the monastery and gave directions to the priests in charge to provide all help possible to those who seek refuge in the monastery.
