Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II : “It’s my duty to resolve church disputes”

His Holiness Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem said that the two churches should take initiative to solve the problems between them. “It’s my duty to end the disputes. It’s not possible for me to turn a blind eye to people’s pain,” the Patriarch told Maorama News.

Kochi: Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II declared that it is his duty to resolve the church dispute in Malankara (between the Syriac Orthodox Church in India and the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church). The Patriarch opened his heart during the interview given for the Manorama News Channel.

It was also reported that the Primate of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church has appointed a commission of Syriac Prelates to begin discussion with Indian Orthodox Malankara Church.
