Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II at the Church of Lady of the Girdle Um El-Zunnar in Homs

On Monday 21 July 2014, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II inspected the church of the Lady of the Girdle (Um El-Zunnar) in Homs to check on the progress of the reconstruction work in the cathedral which was subject to terroristic acts of vandalism and destruction. His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Dionysius Jean Kawak, Patriarchal Office Director.
They were met at the entrance of the cathedral by His Eminence Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh. Also, His Holiness visited the construction site of St. Georges Church in the region of the Armenian District in Homs.
