Parumala Feast Concludes

PATHANANMTHITTA: The 109th commemoration perunnal of Geevarghese Mar Gregorios and annual pilgrimage concluded at Parumala near Tiruvalla on Wednesday afternoon with a procession in which thousands participated.
The day’s programmes began with Holy Mass led by Mathews Mar Severios at 3 a m. Yacob Mar Ireneus led the Holy Mass held at 7 a m. Catholicos Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II led the special Holy Mass conducted at 8.30 a m in which Geevarghese Mar Coorilos and Mathews Mar Thimothios were present. After the mass, the Catholicos delivered the perunnal message.
At the Catholicate centenary meet at 11.30 a m, Baselios Mar Thoma Didimos I Valiya Metropolitan inaugurated the programme.
Cathilicos Baselios Mar Thoma Paulose II presided over the function.
Yacob Mar Ireneus delivered the key-note address.
Clergy secretary Fr Jihns Abraham Konatt and Orthodox Association secretary George Joseph offered felicitations.
Geevarghese Mar Coorilos inaugurated the Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Vidyarthi Prasthanam Sangamam at 12 noon.
The procession, marking the conclusion of the perunnal, was taken out at 2 p m, in which thousands of faithful participated. Parumala Seminary manager Rev M D Yuhanon Ramban performed the ‘kodiyirakku’ ceremony at 3.30 p m.
