Pan- ACYO Governing Board to Meet in July

On March 11, the Pan-Armenian Church Youth Organization (ACYO) Central Office held a meeting in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin under the presidency of His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, and Spiritual Advisor of the Pan- ACYO. Present at the meeting were Deacon Gegham Avetisyan, ACYO academic correspondent; Mr. Gevorg Mkrtchyan, Director of the Central Office; as well as the office staff.

During the meeting they discussed the organizational issues of the upcoming Governing Board meeting to be convened from July 1 through 4. They concluded that all the Hierarchical Sees and Dioceses of the Armenian Church will have representatives at the meetings. Included in the agenda of the Board meeting will be discussions on the organizational issues of the 3rd Parliamentary Assembly in 2015, and projects devoted to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

During the discussion Archbishop Hovnan highlighted the importance of outlining Inter-Parish Youth Cooperation projects, which will also be addressed during the Board meeting. The Director of the Office, Mr. Mkrtchyan, presented the completed accomplishments and a discussion was held on the upcoming projects.

His Grace Bishop Hovnan Manoukian, Director of the Inter- Church Relations Department and Primate of Artik Diocese; was also invited to the meeting and discussed the opportunities of joint projects with youth organizations from Sister Churches.
