Pan-ACYO Governing Board Meets at the Mother See
Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin
On March 15, local Governing Board members of the international Pan-Armenian Church Youth Organization (ACYO) met at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The Pan- ACYO has been organized under the auspices of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.
Present for the meeting were Pan-ACYO representatives from the Dioceses in Armenia and the Diocese of Artsakh. His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America and General Secretary of the Pan ACYO presided over the meeting. Rev. Fr. Sedrak Aznavurian, spiritual advisor to the Pan ACYO and Mr. Karen Petrosian, Chairman of the Pan ACYO, also participated in the meeting.
His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian opened the meeting with prayer. His Eminence extended the blessings and best wishes of His Holiness to the members. Representatives from each of the Dioceses present reported on completed projects as well as plans for upcoming activities. During the meeting the members discussed a number of important issues, and it was decided to hold a Diocesan level meeting in each of the dioceses of Armenia over the next several months, with the participation of the Pan-ACYO Chairman. The goal of the meeting is to strengthen Inter diocesan ties and cooperation. The participants of the meeting also discussed the issues related to the Bylaws of Pan-ACYO. On the occasion of the 770th anniversary of the Monastery of Gandzasar it was decided to organize a pilgrimage to Gandzasar, which would also serve as a good opportunity to hold a regional meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian expressed his appreciation and blessings to the members. The next meeting of the full Governing Board is scheduled to be convened from 8-10 July 2011.
