Pakistan Aquits Christian Women Asia Bibi from Charges of Blasphemy

Islamabad- Pakistan: In a landmark verdict, the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has acquitted Asia Bibi, a Christian woman who was falsely charged with blasphemy. She was on death row for nine years for nine years.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar announced that Asia Bibi is cleared of all charges and has asked the concerned authority to release her.
In 2009, Aisa Bibi was accused of insulting Prophet Muhammad and Quran by two Muslim women as a result of an argument where they refused to drink water from the same vessel.
However, the situation has not calmed down, as far-right wing groups have staged several protests and have repeatedly called for Bibi’s execution.
