Orthodoxy Reaches the Island Kingdom of Tonga

Under the spiritual leadership of His Eminence Archbishop Amfilochios the Orthodox Church has now been planted in the Island Kingdom of Tonga. This past Sunday, October 16, 9 persons were baptized in the newly constructed font situated directly behind the altar of the small chapel.
The chapel also newly constructed is dedicated to the Holy Foremost Apostles Peter and Paul. The church was established at the direction of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
