Nativity and New year Greetings from OCP Secretariat.

It with great pleasure we present to you the 2015 activity report of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society.

Meetings and Visits

OCP Delegation made a historic meeting with His Holiness Ignatius Aphrem II and the Syriac Orthodox Delegation in the month of February 2015 in Kerala. This was the first meeting of the Patriarch of Antioch with a Pan-Orthodox Christian organization. This brotherly encounter is considered to be a milestone for Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE.

During the same month, the OCP Society delegation met with Fr Alexander Kurien – One of the leading U.S. diplomats and the Deputy Associate Administrator of the Office of U.S. Government-Wide Policy. He was presented with a copy of ‘ Collected Writings on Orthodox Christianity.

OCP Secretary made visits to Sri Lanka in the month of October. He visited Anglican and Roman Catholic Prelates, communities and churches. This was in connection with the research for Metropolitan Alvares Julius Research Project (MARP). He also visited the historic Cathedral of Our Lady of Good Death in Colombo, National Archives of Sri Lanka as well.

Dr. Ajesh Phillip (Delegate of the Indian Sub-Continent) was invited speak at various churches outside Kerala on behalf MARP.

OCP Delegation met with Metropolitan Mar Mariam Philipose -, Primate of the English Syro-Frankophone Church (a small unrecognized Oriental Orthodox Church in France). The delegation of the church was presented with the OCP Icon of St Gregorious of Parumala. The icon was taken to Paris and was venerated by the faithful. The icon was carried along with church procession at different places in Paris.

In November 2015, OCP delegation of Gulf, Levant and Middle East were invited for the Pan-Orthodox Christian Musical Night hosted by the Indian Orthodox Cathedral in Abu Dhabi. Prakash Varghese, Nisha Jacob, and Monu John represented OCP at the event. They presented the community with a trio icon of Orthodox events.

Publications, Project and Research Activities
Dr. Ajesh made spectacular research with MARP. He was able to locate the historic Cathedral of Metropolitan Alvares in Colombo through mapping.

Dr. Ajesh led a delegation to visit several old Churches of Metropolitan Alvares in Southern India and was able to discover Tablet (Thabaletho) used by the late Metropolitan.

The new Pan-Orthodox book by George Alexander was completed in November and the official release will be held next year.

News and Media
OCP Media Network remains the world’s largest Pan-Orthodox Christian news portal. In the year 2015, we were able to broadcast extensive exclusive news and events from the world of Orthodoxy. The OCP Website and technical support Dept. is now operated by Sitra Infotech.  The new website will be launched next year.

Network and Cooperation
Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE continue to maintain fraternal relations and cooperation with several Orthodox churches and organizations namely the Serbian Orthodox Patriarchate, Belarusian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate, St Vladimir Seminary, British Orthodox Church, Armenian Apostolic Patriarchate of Jerusalem, Holy Trinity Seminary of ROCOR, St Catherin’s Vision, Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate, Assyrian Church of the East and many more.

OCP Hierarchy
New delegates were appointed by the Executive Council. They are Fr Prakash Phillip (Delegate of Malankara) Joslyn Adam Ramey – (Delegate, Travel and Photography Expert – The Antiochian Orthodox Patriarchate) and Julie Jones- Delegate (Coptic Orthodox Church of U. K.)

Charity and Social Welfare
Charity and Social Welfare Activities continue to flourish under the leadership of Subin Varghese (Vice-Chairman). Help was provided to health and educational activities in South India regions. The total amount spent on charity is rupees 55000/- for the year 2015.
