Chișinău-Moldova: Metropolitan-Primate Petru of the autonomous Metropolis of Bessarabia (Romanian Patriarchate) and Metropolitan-Primate Vladimir of autonomous Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova (Moscow Patriarchate) took part in the celebrations dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Moldova on the 27th of August 2021.
Metropolitan Peter had a cordial discussion with Metropolitan Vladimir and congratulated him on the occasion, reports Basilica News Agency. The Metropolitans delivered congratulatory messages on the occasion.
“During all this time, the Metropolitan Church of Bessarabia, the voice of the Church, saw the Act of Independence as the restoration of man in the image of God, free to manifest his religious, cultural and democratic ideals,” stated Metropolitan Petru.
“The Orthodox Church of the Republic of Moldova has been reborn from its own ashes. We all put our shoulders to the reconstruction of the holy places and the ancestral monastic hearths. We have contributed from small to large, to the construction of over 1000 new churches, to bring God to those who have been deprived of him for so long” stated Metropolitan Vladimir.
