Orthodox Church Extend Support to Earthquake Victims in Crete

Crete- Greece: The leaders of the Orthodox Church pledged to support the victims of the earthquake in the Island of Crete in Greece. “We intensify prayers and supplications to all-merciful God that this extraordinary, destructive phenomenon will pass, leaving our people strong, patient and hopeful. We will also take specific practical support initiatives for our stricken brethren once their immediate needs are established” stated a press release from the Church of Crete. The Church of Greece and the Alexandrian Greek Orthodox Church have also pleaded their support as well.

The earthquake struck at a magnitude of 5.8 in Arkalochori, in the southwest of Heraklion in Crete. The wrath left more than a thousand homes damaged, one dead and several others injured.
