New Delhi-India: M G George Muthoot, Chairman of the Muthoot group and one of the leading Businessman in India passed away on 5th of March 2021, at the age of 72 in New Delhi. A faithful of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church, he has served as the Lay-Trustee of the Church.

He became the Chairman of the Muthoot group in 1993. George Muthoot was a member of the national executive committee of Ficci (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) and was the head of the Kerala Ficci council. He was listed as the 44th richest Indian and the richest Keralaite in 2020 by Forbes Asia with an asset of 5 billion USD.
