Order of Holy King Milutin presented to Alexandar Torshin

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej awarded Mr. Alexandar Porfiriyevich Torshin, First Deputy President of the Council of the Assembly of the Russian Federation and the founder of the International Humanitarian Fundation “Saint Sabbas the Sanctified” for the Preservation of Christian Sacred Places in Kosovo and Metohija, with the Order of Holy King Milutin during the ceremony at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade today, on 2 December 2014 .

The solemn award ceremony was attended by the members of the Holy Synod of Bishops Their Graces Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac, Vasilije of Srem, Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla and Teodosije of Raska-Prizren.

In the decion of the Holy Synod, which was read by chief secretary of the Synod protopresbyter-stavrophor Dr. Savo Jovic, it is said that the high dinstiction of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Order of Holy King Milutin, was given to Mr. Alexandar Torshin for his active love towards the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Serbian people, shown particularly by founding the International Humanitarian Fundation “Saint Sabbas the Presanctified” for the Preservation of Christian Sacred Places in Kosovo and Metohija.

The ceremony at the Serbian Patriarchate, besides Ambassador of the Russian Federation Mr. Alexandar Chepurin, representatives of the public life of the capital and media.
