Global: Our Europen sources have informed that the petition filed by the Secretariat of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society on the Eastern Catholic Rites in India has been forwarded to the Congregation for the Oriental Churches from the Office of Cardinal Kurt Koch – President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
No Action Expected – OCP Secretary
OCP Secretary George Alexander stated that the Secretariat does not expect any action from the part of the Congregation for Oriental Churches. “Unfortunately, they won’t act and we do not expect any response either,” stated George.
The Secretariat of the Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Society) petitioned the Vatican over the ‘activities’ of the Eastern Catholic Uniate Rites in India on 02/07/2019. The petition consists of a number of important concerns over the ‘aggressive ecclesiastical activities’ of the two Uniate Rites in India.
