New Christian Movement in Egypt Calls for Solution to Coptic Problems
In a communiqué, the new Christian Egyptian political movement, Partners for the Homeland, demanded an immediate solution to the problems of the Copts in the country — especially to the problem of building and renovating churches.
The movement called for a strike on the Coptic New Year (which will occur about a month from now) in protest of the state’s treatment of the Copts, and in demand to ratify the “unified law for the construction of places of worship,” which, the communiqué states, has been delayed by the parliament for years despite the urgent need for it.
