My heart is full because of so many young people in Church

After the first liturgy as the new Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Irinej spoke at the Cathedral Church frankly and without written speech. ‘My heart is full because there were so many young people in the church’, he said.
On the very first day as a new Patriarch, Irinej shall chair the meeting of the church government.
Patriarch Irinej is expected to lead our Church successfully, just like his predecessors, Pavle and Varnava.
For years there is a plan within the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) that certain eparchies are divided into smaller ones but it was not possible to make such decision since the late Patriarch Pavle was hospitalized, unable to perform his duties. This division concerns Belgrade in the first place where the number of believes is the largest.
Irinej, the 45th Serbian Patriarch is expected to continue strengthening the morale as foundations of the society.
